Join one hub. Get a room. Lock, permit, transfer, limit.

You will

Joining the hub always creates a room the owner can lock and transfer.

Examples use the default prefix, a comma.

Before you start

  • near needs Move Members and a high role.
  • Rooms start open. Lock is a choice.

Set it up

  1. Create the hub. Members join that channel. near makes a room named after them and moves them in.
    ,vc setup
  2. Own the room. The person who created it owns lock, hide, rename, limit, permit, reject, transfer, and claim.
    ,vc lock
  3. Let someone in. Permit a person after a lock. Transfer if you are leaving and want them to keep the room.
    ,vc transfer @user
  4. Stats optional. vc stats and vc lb are time in voice. Hour roles are a separate setup if you want ranks for sitting in calls.

Do not

  • Do not expect rooms to stay locked after a transfer unless the new owner locks again.

Troubleshooting

  • If no room appears, the hub is missing or near cannot move members.
  • If people cannot join an unlocked room, the category overwrites are hiding it.

Verify it works

  • Join the hub on an alt. Confirm a room appears. Lock it, then unlock it.
